Loving mother, grandmother,
LITTLETON -- Dorothy R. "Dot" (Leary) McInerney, age 95, a resident of Littleton, and a former resident of Lowell, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at the Westford House Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
Dorothy was born in Rutland, Vermont on August 17, 1917, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Rose (Jasmin) Leary. She attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Following high school, Dot worked at the five and ten cents store in Downtown Lowell. Later on during WWII, she worked at General Electric as an inspector and at Robbie Shoe Co. as a stitcher.
Dot was a seamstress and stitcher for many manufacturers in Lowell. She retired from the microfilm department of the Raytheon Company of Lowell.
In earlier years, Dot was a communicant of St. Michael's Church.
Dorothy was devoted Red Sox fan and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans and sweaters, crafting, and dining out.
She enjoyed the trotters at Rockingham, her favorite television show, the Price is Right, and her soap operas.
Above all, Dot cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed the family pets.
Surviving Mrs. McInerney are her daughter, Dorothy R. Palisoul of Westford; three grandchildren, Richard Palisoul of Chelmsford, Susan Mills, Sharon Healey, and her husband Paul of Dunstable; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Palisoul and his wife, Jen of Lowell, Samantha Palisoul of Boston, Julie Mills of Westford, Stephanie Mills of Lowell, and Scott Palisoul of Hartland, VT; three great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Eleanor Grugan of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McInerney was the sister of the late Mary Hanley, Cecile McNabb, and Edward Leary; grandmother of the late Kevin S. Palisoul who died in 1980; and
mother-in-law of the late Richard C. Palisoul.

Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL, on MONDAY MORNING from 9A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Dorothy's Funeral Mass will follow on MONDAY MORNING at 11 A.M. at HOLY FAMILY PARISH -- ST. MARIE'S CHURCH, corner of Chamberlain and Grafton Sts. Lowell. Her burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Dot's memory may be made to the
