Elizabeth A. Gladu

LITTLETON -- Elizabeth A. (Heil) Gladu, 93, of Littleton, formerly of Westford, died at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton on October 2, 2013.
She was born in Jaffrey, NH on May 25, 1920, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Heil and was the wife of the late Raymond Gladu Sr. She grew up in Jaffrey, NH, and was a graduate of Conant High School, Class of 1938, and a graduate of the Robert Breck Brigham School of Nursing in 1942, and worked at the Brigham Hospital for a period of time.
She was married in 1943 and made her home in Providence, RI before moving to Jaffrey, NH, and Boston, and Westford.
She owned the Graniteville Nursing Home in Westford, and worked at Emerson Hospital in Concord over 20 years retiring in 1989.
Elizabeth enjoyed her family, knitting, and gardening.
Her survivors include her son, Raymond and his wife, Sandra Gladu of Pelham, NH; a daughter-in-law, Gail Gladu of Temple, NH; three grandchildren, Linda Ennis of Pelham, NH, Wendy Landry of Dracut, MA, and Holly Gladu of Temple, NH; five great-grandchildren, Emily and James Ennis and Olivia, Nicholas and Katelyn Landry.
She was predeceased by her three brothers and two sisters, also predeceased was her son, Peter Gladu, and grandson, Christopher Gladu.
GLADU -- A Funeral Service will take place at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton, MA on Monday, October 7 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be 9-11 a.m. prior to the service.
