lifelong resident of Lowell; 92

LOWELL -- Ms. Elizabeth Koulias, 92, passed away Tuesday November 6th at the D'Youville Senior Care Center.

She was born September 18, 1920 in Lowell, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen (Dragataris) Koulias.

A lifelong resident of Lowell, Elizabeth was educated in the Lowell schools and later attended George Washington University where she received her nursing degree. She worked as a nurse in the Greater Boston area. She also completed her training to become a police officer. And worked on the campus of U Mass-Lowell as a campus police officer for many years up until her retirement.

She loved to travel and visit Greece. Elizabeth was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.

She is survived by four nephews, Col. Nicholas Pappas USAF- Ret. of Dracut, James Koulias and his wife Chris, Chris Koulias, all of California, Shaun Koulias of Wisconsin, and a niece, Christine Stamas and her husband Harry of Tyngsborough; also many cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her sisters, Pauline Pappas, Sophie Chiklis, and her brothers, Arthur and Charles Koulias.

The family would like to thank D'Youville Senior Care Center for the care and compassion provided to Elizabeth while she was in their facility.

KOULIAS -- Her funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Friday, November 9th at the M.R. LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell at 9:00am with services at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell at 10:00a.m. Internment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery.
