Loving Son, Brother, and Uncle
LOWELL Eugene Alfred Hamel, our beloved brother, passed away on Saturday morning, October 27, 2012 at Brigham & Woman's Hospital in Boston, following a lengthy illness. He was 69 years old. Gene was born in Lowell on May 9, 1943, a son of the late Albert and Annie (Rappe) Hamel. Growing up, Gene was a parishioner of the former St. Peter's Church.
By trade, Gene was a carpenter. He was an avid Red Sox and NASCAR Racing Fan.
Surviving Gene are his loving siblings: Ms. Carol Landry of Hudson, NH, Mrs. Kathleen Sousa and her husband, Manuel of Hudson, NH, Mr. Ronald Hamel of Lowell, Ms. Linda Anderson of Tilton, NH, Mrs. Colleen Falkos and her husband, Paul of Reading, Mr. Stephen Hamel and his wife, Sheila of Derry, NH, Mrs. Lu LaRock and her husband, Richard of Hudson, NH, and Mr. Kevin Hamel and his companion, Rita Parks of Lowell. Gene also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hamel was predeceased by his parents Albert and Annie Hamel, two sisters, Charlene Hamel and Frances St. George, and two brothers, Richard Hamel and Brian Hamel.
Our gentle giant will be sadly missed. Gene will always be remembered for the love and tender care he always gave to our mother.

Mr. Hamel's Funeral will begin on FRIDAY MORNING at 9 o'clock from the Funeral Home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 o'clock at ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH, 893 Central Street, Lowell.
