Floyd A. Fields
formerly of Westford, MA; 90

Floyd A. Fields passed away on August 31, 2018 at the age of 90. He was a resident of Westford, Massachusetts for 65 years before moving to New Jersey.

He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts to Floyd W. and Laura B. (nee McFarland) Fields. He was the devoted husband of Eileen (nee Murphy) for 65 years until her death in 2012. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Arleen Tousignant of Townsend, MA, a brother Carl W., and a sister Evelyn Christoun. He is survived by his son Stephen and his wife of Mendham, New Jersey, a son-in-law, 5 nieces and 2 nephews, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

He received recognition in 2016 for 55 years of service from the Merrimack Valley Carpenters Local Union 111. After his retirement from commercial construction at 65 years old, he performed small repair and renovation projects at low cost for an elderly clientele as a gesture of community service.

He loved the outdoors especially boating, skiing, and swimming in his pool. He took up distance bicycling in his sixties to improve his fitness, which not only significantly increased his fitness, but his longevity.

He was a patriot and loyal supporter of other veterans of military service.

He was a faith-filled, humble, kind, and generous man who was well liked by everybody who knew him. He will be missed but never forgotten.

A private service was held including military honors. Interment was at Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford, MA. Donations can be made in Floyd's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
