Frank Brabrook Byers; 83

BUSHLAND, Texas -- Frank passed away amongst family at home on May 22nd, 2013 in Bushland, Texas. He was born June 24th, 1929 in Lowell Massachusetts to Frank & Adelaide Byers. He married Pauline (Winnis) Byers on December 25th, 1950. Residing since last October in Bushland, Texas.

Frank is survived by his wife, Polly, sister, Elisabeth (Betty) Byers of Newton, Massachusetts; three sons, Frank and wife, Carol Byers, of Los Angeles, California, Robert Byers of Bushland, Texas; daughter, Marcia Burns Byers of Newburyport, Massachusetts, and Chris Byers and wife, Traci Byers of Lowell, Massachusetts and Burbank, California; 13 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Frank enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII from 1946 to 1948. Soon after his return, he married Polly and returned to active duty to fight in the Korea War from 1948 until his honorable discharge as a Corporal in 1952. He returned to take over the family's business, Frank Byers Insurance Agency of Lowell, MA. He then proceeded to grow the business until merging with David Caddell establishing the very successful Caddell & Byers Insurance Agency of Lowell, MA.

Frank had a great interest and an incredible talent for art, influenced by his Aunt Elizabeth (Bess Hunking) Walsh of Lowell a well-recognized Artist. Frank & Polly were longtime members of the Vesper Country Club, he also enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his many friends and family. They resided in Lowell and Nantucket, which was a source of great enjoyment to him for many years.

Upon his retirement in 1994 at the age of 65, Frank & Polly then relocated to Santa Barbara, CA, and eventually returned to live in Byfield, Massachusetts where he has been residing for many years till a recent move to his son, Robert's house in Bushland, Texas.

Frank was a successful, strong, well-loved man that will be sorely missed by all.
