lifelong resident of Lowell; 57

LOWELL -- Mr. George N. Brunelas, 57, passed away unexpectedly Friday October 4th at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

George was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 9, 1955, a son of Nicholas and Jennie(Liakos) Brunelas. George's father pre-deceased him on May 31, 2009.

A lifelong resident, George attended Lowell Schools. He graduated from the University of Lowell with Master's degrees in Business and System Management.

He worked as an engineer at Raytheon for many years. And most recently was working at Market Basket.

George was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell, a former member of the Sons of Pericles, AHEPA, and the Greek American Legion.

He is survived by his loving mother, Jennie (Liakos) Brunelas of Lowell, his loving wife of thirty five years and his two daughters, Cheryl (Andraktos) Brunelas, Gina Brunelas, and Sara Brunelas; two brothers, Charles Brunelas, John Brunelas and his wife Karen; three nephews, Nikolino, Angelo, and Nicholas Brunelas; and a niece, Giuliana Brunelas; two godchildren, his in- laws, Russell and Effie Forbes, and Manual Andraktos; and many cousins.

BRUNELAS -- Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Wednesday, October 9th from 4pm to 7pm. His funeral will take place on Thursday at 9am at the Funeral Home to be followed by a service at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell at 10:00am. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tewksbury. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Holy Trinity Church, Fr. Gialopsos Way, Lowell, MA. 01854 or to the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, 30 Lyman St. Suite 10, Westborough, MA. 01581. Funeral arrangements under the direction of directors, Louis M.
