LOWELL -- Gerard A. "Gig" Damboise, beloved husband of Theresa (Guerin) Damboise, died on Friday October 18, 2013, at his Pawtucketville residence, with his family by his side. He was 78.

He was born in Lowell on July 13, 1935, a son of the late Thomas and Anna (Parent) Damboise.

Jerry was a foreman for the former Robie Shoe and retired from Lowell Shoe after a 37 year career there.

He loved music. Jerry was a self taught musician. He played the guitar, drums, harmonica and vocals for the Over the Hill Gang Band. He enjoyed woodworking, his flowers and tending to his yard. Jerry took pleasure in decorating for the holidays. He was elated to stop in and spend time at the Centralville Social Club or the former Toni's Sandwich Shop.

He was most content at family cookouts playing music and singing. Family was paramount to Jerry. He loved his family and spending time with them. They describe him as a good husband, father, and grandfather who was kind and hardworking.

Surviving him besides his wife with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 4th of this year are three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Lenny Berube of Pelham, NH, Shelley and Jim Drewett of Haverhill, Jodie and Scott Tracy of Greenfield, NH; five grandchildren, Michaelagh, Sierra, Camron, Tommy, Daniella; a brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Claire Damboise of Derry, NH; a sister Pauline Kane of Fl; sister-in-law, Anna Damboise of Lowell; a brother-in-law, Frank Kress of Lowell; a dear friend Norman B. "Clem" Mack of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Lillian Gigere, Raymond Damboise, and Claire Kress.

DAMBOISE -- It being his request calling hours are omitted. His Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Rita Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers Donations in Jerry's memory may be made to D'Youville Foundation, Adult Day Health, P.O. Box 8828, Lowell, MA 01853. Arrangements in the care of McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home.
