LOWELL -- Guillermo "Junior" Montanez III, 41, a lifelong Lowell resident, died after a lengthy illness, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Fairhaven Nursing Home.
He was born June 20, 1971 in Lowell and was a son of Alice Montanez of Lowell. He is also survived by his father, Guillermo Reyes Montanez of Lowell. He attended the local schools including the Green School, the City Magnet School, before finishing his education at Lighthouse in Chelmsford.
He resided in the downtown area of Lowell for 16 years. He enjoyed shoveling downtown sidewalks, volunteering at various local churches to set up holiday meals, Community Christian Fellowship Church and the Eliot Presbyterian Church to name a few, and helping local downtown restaurants clean up at closing time. Junior also helped with some cooking for a brief time at the Parkway Lounge. He loved music, engaging in conversations, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Alice Montanez of Lowell and Guillermo Reyes Montanez of Lowell; he is survived by three sisters, Celeste A. Montanez, Melody Montanez, and Amy Montanez, all of Lowell; a nephew, Sebastian Noonan; three nieces, Chandeliz Noonan, Cassandra Noonan, and Thalia Noonan, all of Lowell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
