Helen E. Burns
Lifelong resident of Lowell; 98

LOWELL -- Helen E. (Regan) Burns, 98, a lifelong resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, died Saturday evening, November 24th, 2012, at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Burns who died December 5, 1989.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, August 4, 1914, the daughter of the late William and the late Ella M. (Murphy) Regan, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1931. She was a communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell.

Before retiring, Helen was employed as a Payroll Clerk with Community Teamwork in Lowell. Previously, she was a Sales Clerk at various Lowell Department Stores, and then a Sales Representative at Jordan Marsh in Boston.

Among her many enjoyments, Helen especially loved summering with family and friends at York Beach in Maine. She also enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to Foxwoods in Connecticut.

Helen is survived by a niece, Jacqueline Parks of Chelmsford; two nephews, Paul Regan and his wife, Sally of Florida, and William Regan and his wife, Cynthia of Tewksbury; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was also sister of the late William and his late wife, Helen (Lang) Regan, and the late Walter and his late wife, Estelle (Cote) Regan.

Helen's family wishes to thank the staff of D'Youville Senior Care Center who have given immeasurable and compassionate care to their aunt.

BURNS -- In Lowell, November 24, 2012, at D'Youville Senior Care, Helen E. (Regan) Burns, 98, of Lowell, wife of the late Walter F. Burns.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Tuesday morning at ST. MARGARET CHURCH in LOWELL at 9:30 o'clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
