WINDHAM, NH -- James A. Linnehan, age 75, a former resident of Tewksbury and Lowell, died Sunday, October 14, at Lowell General Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Joan A. (Carusone) Linnehan, with whom he had celebrated his 45th wedding anniversary this past Friday, October 12th.
He was born in Lowell one of four children of the late Patrick Edward and Hortense (Conlon) Linnehan, and was raised in Lowell. He graduated from Lowell High School, and enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He served in Europe during his four year enlistment.
He worked at the Courier Citizens for over 28 years, fifteen of those as a supervisor. He then joined the U.S. Postal Service as a mail handler in their North Reading facility.
He and his wife raised their family in Tewksbury where they lived for thirty five years, and upon his retirement in 2003, moved to Windham, NH. He loved to read, and was an accomplished flower gardener.
Besides his beloved wife, he leaves his children, Shawn Linnehan and his wife Kira DeGregorio and their three sons, Tyler, Orion and Zane Linnehan all of Stuart, FL, Kevin Linnehan and his daughter Sabrina Linnehan of Tyngsboro, and Brian and his wife Shannon Linnehan and their daughter Eilish Linnehan of Uxbridge, MA; his twin daughters, Kara (Linnehan) Jackson and her husband Kevin and daughter Kourtney all of Pepperell, and Kelly (Linnehan) Broadbent and her husband Keith and their two children Victoria and Alexander Broadbent all of Dracut; a sister Mary Fleming of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Helen Barrows and Edward Linnehan.
