MARSTONS MILLS, MA -- James H. Frame, 77, of Marstons Mills, formerly of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at his home on November, 25, 2012 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on December 17, 1934 in Peabody to his beloved parents, the late William and Anna (King) Frame and was the older brother of the late William Frame who died during the polio epidemic. He leaves his devoted wife of 49 years, Katherine (Barry) Frame.
On June 29, 1963 he and Katherine married and together they were blessed with five children and eleven grandchildren. Along with his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses; Marie Gilet (Stephen) of Chelmsford, Kate Veator (David)of Beverly, Maura Bennett (Daniel) of Sherborn, Anne Sheppard (Gabriel) of Hudson, Ohio, and James William Frame (Molly) of Cohasset; his beloved grandchildren, Stephanie and Allison Gilet, Charlotte and Audrey Veator, Caroline, Danny and John Bennett, Anna King and Joseph Gabriel Sheppard, Reilly and William Frame; his brothers-in-law, Dr. G. Curtis Barry, Dr. Arthur C. Barry and Dr. James F. Barry.
Mr. Frame was a graduate of St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, and was a "double eagle" having graduated from the Boston College Undergraduate Arts and Science Program and the Graduate MBA Program. In 1965 he began his professional career in healthcare, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital of Brighton. In 1968, he began his 26 year tenure at St. Joseph's in Lowell, first as Vice President of Finance then as President and CEO for 16 years. Jim had the distinction of becoming a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHCE).
Throughout his life Mr. Frame served on several boards including, St. Joseph's Hospital, D'Youville Senior Care, and Tufts Health Plan, and upon retiring to Cape Cod he Chaired the Finance Committee and was Treasurer of Elder Services and volunteered as a Counselor with SHINE serving the healthcare needs of the elderly.
Jim was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling but above all else, he treasured time spent with his family. He was always in attendance at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.
FRAME -- Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 2:00-6:00 p.m. in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd.(Rte.28), Marstons Mills, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 30th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 76 Wianno Ave., Osterville.
