Jean Paul Albert Daigle

CHELMSFORD -- Jean-Paul Daigle, 85, of Chelmsford and a beloved husband, father, "pop", and brother died peacefully at home on December 7, 2012 after a brief illness. Jean-Paul was born on August 1, 1927 to the late Albert and Alice Daigle. He grew up in Lowell and was a Westford resident for over 50 years. He worked as a pharmacist and Director of Pharmacy for over 50 years at St. Joseph's/Saints Memorial. He was a member of the Massachusetts Society of Hospital Pharmacists and Treasurer of the Society for 10 years. He was a veteran in the US Army, Korean War.

Loving husband of Florence (Milot) of 56 years who he devoted 17 years of daily nursing home visits and beloved father of Anne Daigle and her husband Richard Heyman of Encinitas CA, Mark Daigle and his wife Mary Barsamian of Pelham NH, and Judy Daigle of Groton MA. He leaves cherished grandchildren: Scott Heyman, Julia Heyman, and Marissa Daigle. Despite the distance or his schedule, he attended all of his grandchildren's milestones and more. Jean Paul is survived by 6 brothers and sisters: Maurice Daigle and his wife Beatrice of Dracut, Albert Daigle and his wife Terry of Lowell, Richard Daigle and his wife Lorraine of Lowell, Beatrice Daigle Tarello of Reading, Estelle Bergeron and her husband Paul of Pelham NH, and Irene Basnett and her husband Jim of Littleton. He is predeceased by his sister Lorraine McGinnis. He is also survived by 3 sister and brother-in-laws: Georgette Valcourt, Cecile Boisvert, and Charles Milot all of Westford. He also leaves a special niece, Wanda Edwards and many dear friends, particularly Sal Ripa, Armand Perron and Jeanette Guillemette, Don and Dot Banfield, Doug Lefevbre, and the Andover Country golfing group. He will also be missed by his furry grand-dogs (Maya, Mazey, and Minnie).

He was an avid golfer; a member of Andover Country Club since 1967, a player in the Green Meadows Hines League for many years. He founded the St. Joseph's bowling league and bowled for 35 years. He was a member of the Lafayette Club for over 50 years and volunteered at St. Catherine's Church in Westford for many years where he was a parishioner for over 50 years. He always loved golfing with his family and his many visits to California.

The family would like to thank all those who visited and thought of their Dad during his last weeks. Thank you to the Merrimack Valley Hospice staff for their support, comfort, and compassion.

DAIGLE -- Relatives and friends may call at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Thursday December 13th from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. with a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at St.Catherine Cemetery in Westford.
