Jeannette M. 'Jan' Cote
"Active within the Billerica
Senior Center for many years"

LOWELL -- Jeannette M. 'Jan' (Pombrio) Cote, 91, of Lowell, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Wingate of Belvidere after a long illness.

A daughter of the late Floyd E. and the late Beatrice (Mayette) Pombrio, she was born December 22, 1921, in Nashua, NH, and grew up in that area and was educated in the Nashua schools, graduating from Nashua High School, Class of 1939, where she was the Captain of the Nashua High School Basketball Team for the 1939 season.

Jeannette met her husband, the late Louis R. Cote, a United States Army Air Corpsman, in the 1940's at the height of World War II, and they married in 1943. They moved to Montgomery, Alabama where he was stationed. After the War, the family moved back up to this area settling in Tyngsboro, then relocating to Burlington. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially for the Holidays. For many years, she was active in the Billerica Senior Community. She was a gifted artist, and she took up painting in the 1960s.

She worked as an electronics technician for Computer Devices in Woburn for more than thirty five years prior to retiring.

She is survived by her children, Barbara L. Crowley of Lowell, Michael Cote and his wife, Jeanette, of Hampden, CT, Stephen L. Cote and his wife, Sandy, of Atkinson, NH, and Matthew R. Cote and his wife, Betsy, of North Andover; ten grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the grandmother of the late Christopher L. Cote.
