SEABROOK, NH -- Joao F. Cesar, 65, of Seabrook, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 13, 1949 in Sao Miguel, Azores a son of the late Joao and Maria DeCarmen Cesar.
Mr. Cesar immigrated to the United States in 1981 settling in New Bedford, Mass., and later moving to Seabrook in 1986. He was employed in construction for many years.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church of Hampton and a member of the Portuguese American Club in Lowell, Mass. He enjoyed making homemade sausage and wine for his family and friends and watching his favorite Benfica Soccer team play. He hosted a Holy Ghost Festival for over 20 years in Seabrook.
He shared 45 years of marriage with his wife, Maria L. (Caetano) Cesar of Seabrook.
In addition to his wife, family members include his son, Helio F. "Al" Cesar and his wife, Frances A. (Malliaros) of Dracut, Mass.; two grandchildren, Avah and Alexa; two brothers, Mario and Luis, and his sister, Fatima, all of the Azores; many nieces and nephews.
CESAR -- Visiting hours will be from 4-8 P.M., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
