LAKE WORTH, FL Joyce (Wendon) Hunter, 80, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 18, 2009. Joyce was the beloved wife for 58 years of the late Lewis A. Hunter who died July 2, 2007.
Formerly of Chelmsford, MA, she had made her home in the Lake Worth, Florida area for the past 38 years.
Active in the community, Joyce volunteered for the Palm Beach Sheriff's County Lakes C.O.P. program and achieved the rank of Captain. She also participated in the Attorney General's "Seniors vs. Crime" Project and also was a past board member of the Country Lake West H.O.A. She was a member of the Grace and Truth Fellowship.
Joyce is survived by two sons, Lewis "Skip" Hunter and his wife Linda of Lowell and David W. Hunter and his wife Judy of Dracut; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her treasured friend and adopted daughter, Tammy Slagle.
