LITTLETON, MA -- June Belmont Troupe, passed away at Apple Valley Nursing Facility on Sunday, October 21, 2012. She was the beloved wife of John J. Troupe with whom she had celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on August 21, 2012.
June was born in Concord, MA on June 15, 1927, daughter of the late Augustas and Minerva Belmont. She grew up in Concord, MA where she graduated from Concord High School in 1945 and later graduated from Bryant & Stratton College earning her Secretarial degree in 1947.
She worked at The Maynard Consumers Credit Union and then was the Secretary to the Chief of Police at the Maynard Police Department where she retired from.
A very active member of the Congregational Church of Littleton for over 50 years, she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Chairman of the Deacons, Nominating Committee, World Service, Council of Laity, Ladies Sewing Group, Scholarship Committee, and the Church Collector for over 30 years, as well as attended many Bible Studies. June co-created the Neighborhood Supper in 1991 with her best friend, Marge MacMelville of over 42 years. She was also a Cub Scout Leader.
June enjoyed reading her Bible and Guideposts every morning, doing crossword puzzles, knitting and was an active member of the Sewing Group at her church, spending time at her place in Wells, Maine of over 26 years where she enjoyed walking the beach looking for sand dollars, taking day trips around New England and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends. She had a special love for the beach and Nubble Light House.
June is survived by her husband, John of 64 years of Littleton, MA. Her children; son, Brian and his wife, Mary Beth Troupe of Bedford, NH and her son, David and his wife, Sandy of Bothell, WA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Pam Troupe-Jones and her husband, Kenney Jones of High-Point, NC; Chris Troupe and Susan Edwards of Selma, NC; Amy Jane Maciel and her husband, Robert F. Maciel Jr. of Tyngsborough, MA; and Beth Troupe of Vista, CA. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Daniel J. Jones; Ashley Jill and Emma Ruby Maciel; Jayden and Xander D. Troupe, her sister-in-law, Madeline Belmont; two nephews and five nieces, and many great nieces and great nephews.
She was also the sister to the late Helen Watkins, Fred Belmont, and Edward Belmont.
TROUPE -- A Memorial Service will be held on February 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Littleton. Contributions may be made in June's memory to the Congregational Church of Littleton c/o the Ladies Sewing Group and/or the Neighborhood Supper, 330 King Street, Littleton, MA 01460-1253.
