PLANT CITY, FL -- Karen Marie (Lord) Borrelli, 51, of Plant City, FL died February 17, 2013 after a brief illness. Born in Lowell, MA on September 4, 1961, she was the daughter of Paul R. and Theresa (Vezina) Lord.

She was raised in Dracut, MA and graduated with the class of 1979. She had a passion and gift for writing and attended University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA for 2 years where she majored in Journalism and Northern Essex Community College where she wrote for the school newspaper.

She spent more than 20 years in North Carolina raising her children. By far, her greatest joy was being a devoted and loving mother to her three boys. Besides livening up a room with her witty sense of humor, Karen also enjoyed quiet times reading and watching movies.

She recently went back to school and got her PCT certification and was employed as a Patient Care Technician in the transplant unit at Tampa General Hospital.

In addition to her parents, Karen is survived by her three sons, Derek Paul Lord, Tyler Richard Borrelli, and Dylan Kevin Borrelli; her sister and brother-in-law, Kimberley Lord Curtis and Gregory Curtis of Lowell, MA; her brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Traci Lord of Windham, NH; her maternal grandmother, Alice (Lafond) Vezina of Nashua, NH; her nephews, Jason Lord of New York, NY, Korey, Connor and Brayden Lord of Windham, NH.

She was predeceased by brother, Kevin P. Lord.
