Beloved Daughter, Mother, Sister & Friend

LOWELL, MA -- Katrina M. Nelson passed away on Monday, March 4th at home surrounded by her friends and family after a long and courageous five year battle with metastatic cancer.

She was born in Lowell on October 11, 1971. She was the daughter of Diane Bureau (Forest) St. Onge and the step daughter of Maurice E. St. Onge of Hudson NH.

Prior to her illness she was employed as a scheduler at the Westford House in the administration department for Genesis Health Care in Westford MA. Ms. Nelson was a graduate from the Greater Lowell Regional High School in 1989 and was a Licensed Nurse's Assistant. Ms. Nelson also worked as a bartender at both the Highland Tap and Gaelic Club.

Katrina loved the beach, camping, flea markets, country music, snowmobiling and hanging out with her friends.

Besides her mother and step father, she is survived by her daughter, Jordan Marie Nelson of Lowell; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia Ann Dufault and Thomas Dufault of Pelham, NH; a niece Autumn Rae and a Nephew, Cameron Robert Dufault of Pelham, NH; three step siblings, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel St.Onge of Hudson, NH, Ms. Renee St.Onge of Westport, CT, and Jonathan St.Onge of Derry, NH. Ms. Nelson leaves behind a paternal Grandmother, Mrs. Sonia Lavoie of Lowell; also several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close and life-long friends.

NELSON -- Katrina, 41; Relatives & friends are invited to her visitation at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Thursday March 7, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Friday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:00 am. at St. Rita's Church, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Cremation to take place following services, final interment is private.
