LOWELL -- Kleanthe D. Curtis, a resident of Lowell, MA, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at D'Youville Manor, after a lengthy illness, aged 88 years.

She was the beloved wife of James T. Curtis, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

She was born on June 30, 1924, the daughter of Theodosius and Magdalene (Galanis) Dusopol of Wollaston, MA.

Mrs. Curtis was a graduate of North Quincy High School and the Katherine Gibbs School, now known as Sanford/Brown College. She received her majority in the Wollaston Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was a member of the Wollaston Junior Women's Club and served as Vice President of the Alpha Omikron Kappa, Nine Muses Society of the Boston Cathedral Church in Boston. Upon her graduation, Kleanthe was employed by the Admiral of the Navy Department in the District Communications Office, First Naval District Headquarters in Boston.

Kleanthe married James T. Curtis of Lowell, MA, on June 25, 1950, while he was a student in his final year at Harvard Law School. She and her family enjoyed numerous activities and trips in the United States and various countries throughout Europe. She was a member of the Lowell Garden Club.

Mrs. Curtis was a devout member of the Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church of Lowell.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Curtis is survived by five children and six grandchildren as follows: Madelon and her husband, Stephen H. Harper of Aptos, CA; Theodore J. Curtis and his wife, Cathy of Merrimack, NH, and their son, James; Stephanie and her husband, Fredric W. Harman of Woodside, CA, and their three children, Kirsten E., Stephen F. and Allison S.; Atty. Gregory T. Curtis and his wife, Kimberley of Lowell, MA; and Atty. James T. Curtis, Jr. and his wife, Caroline of New York City, and their children, Margaret K. and Henry R.

Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell, MA, and thereafter, interment will take place at the Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell, MA.
