Lillian J. (Meshna) Anderson, 94, of Chelmsford, formerly of North Reading, died late Thursday night, September 13, 2018 at Palm Center in Chelmsford surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late Albert W. Anderson who died July 17, 1994.

Born in Malden, MA on October 12, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John and Marie (Mostofsky) Meshna. She was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1941.

Lillian was a self- employed seamstress for many years. She also worked for her brother, John Meshna Jr. of Lynn, MA.

She loved crafts and making teddy bears. Lillian loved to travel; travelling to Great Britain, Bermuda and many other locations with her daughter Madeline.

She was a member of the Merrimack Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines and volunteered with the Meals on Wheels and the Book Mobile.

She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Madeline and Beth Anderson-Balmer of N. Chelmsford, Lorraine and Luis Colon of Amherst, NY; two sons, Morris Anderson of Estero, FL and William Anderson and his partner Carolyn Hoban of Milton, MA; six grandchildren, Max, Lily and Everett Anderson, Lucas, Ruben and Noelia Colon; many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was predeceased by her grandson, Francisco Colon and her siblings, John and Frederick Meshna, and Marie Phillips.

Funeral Mon. at 8:00 a.m. from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 115 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, MA. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
