DRACUT, MA -- Lorraine J. (Archambault) Matterazzo, 79, passed away Saturday, January 5th, at the North Shore Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Matterazzo.
Lorraine was born in Lowell on February 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Lillian and Henry Archambault and one of 10 brothers and sisters.
Lorraine was an accomplished pianist, loved to dance, and was an awesome cook. To Lorraine family was everything, but she took special pride and joy in her grandchildren. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She really looked forward to and enjoyed playing cards, gaming with the family and Friday Night Pizza.
Lorraine was considered the "go-to person" for her many family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lorraine is survived by her seven children, Dennis Dufresne and his wife Susan, Russell Dufresne and his wife Diane, Pamela Michaud and her husband Brian, all of Dracut, Deborah Marcello and her husband Jack of Methuen, Ronald Dufresne and his wife Carol of Lowell, Wayne Dufresne and his companion Leslie of Hudson, NH and Joanna Matterazzo of Pelham, NH; ten grandchildren, Bradford Dufresne, Renée Martinez, Jennifer, Eric and Michael Marcello, Derek Dufresne, Aryn Crowe, Angela Dufresne, Cassandra Michaud and Shannon Says and two great-grandchildren Patrick Dufresne and Julian Carter Martinez (due in March), as well as her siblings Pauline Souza of Lowell, Rita Couturier of Franklin, NH and Raymond Archambault, her sister in-law and longtime best friend, Simone D'Auteuil, and several nieces and nephews.
MATTERAZZO -- Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, January 10th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave, DRACUT. Her funeral will take place on Friday from the funeral home at 8 a.m., followed by her funeral mass at 9 a.m. in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish/St.Theresa Church in Dracut.
