Loving wife, mother, grandmother,
and great-grandmother

LOWELL -- Marie Rose (St. Onge) Levasseur, age 88, a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2012, at Lowell General Hospital, main campus, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of Joseph L. M. Levasseur with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage this past November.

Marie was born in Lowell, MA on March 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Joseph J. B. and Marie S. (Neault) St. Onge. She had attended Lowell Schools.

She was a longtime member of the former St. Louis de France Parish.

Marie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing Parcheesi, and playing her harmonica, and was also an avid Bingo player. She was an excellent cook, and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Joseph, she is survived by her children, Paul Levasseur and his wife, Maxine of Florida, Pauline Levasseur of Lowell, Gloria Levasseur-Smith and her husband, Stephen of Texas, and Dennis Levasseur and his wife, Cheryl of Lowell; two sisters, Valeda Giguere of Nashua, NH, and Gertrude Cote of Dracut. Also survived by nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

LEVASSEUR -- Family and friends may call on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the ARCHAMBAULT FUNERAL HOME, 309 Pawtucket Street, Lowell. Funeral Saturday morning with Marie's Prayer Services at 10 o'clock at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
