Marie V. Casserly
of Dracut; 91

DRACUT -- Marie V. (Robertson) Casserly, 91, died peacefully July 27th, 2014, at Palm Center Nursing Home in Chelmsford.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late John B. Casserly who predeceased her in March of this year. They shared 53 years of marriage.

Marie was born in Lowell on June 1, 1923. She was the daughter of the late William F. Robertson and Evelyn (Barry) Robertson. She received her education in the Dracut School System and was a graduate and valedictorian of her class at Dracut High School and then furthered her education and attended Burdett School of Business.

Prior to her retirement, Marie was employed at the Social Security Office in Attleboro, MA as a claims representative for 15 years.

Marie was a communicant at St. Theresa's Parish in South Attleboro, MA for more than 40 years.

In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, traveling, and sewing. She particularly enjoyed sewing doll's clothes, which she gave to many children over the years.

She is survived by her two children, Dr. Brian J. Casserly and his wife, Celaine of Winchester, and William P. Casserly and his wife, Lynn of Kensington, NH; her six grandchildren, John Casserly and his wife, Michelle, Michael Casserly and his wife, Elizabeth, and David, Peter, Thomas, and Christopher Casserly; and her great-grandchild, Alrec Casserly.

Marie was predeceased by her son, John G. Casserly.

CASSERLY -- At the request of Marie's family, calling hours will be held privately. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 30th at 10 AM in St. Michael Church, Lowell. Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
