LOWELL -- Minas "Jack" Arguoyan , age 79, a resident of Lowell passed away Friday June 4, 2010 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Arlene (Petroules) Arguoyan with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage last February.
Born in Marseilles, France, Sept. 27, 1930, a son of the late John and Rose (Magarian) Arguoyan, he received his early education in France. He immigrated to the United States in 1949.
Minas enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on May 25,1952, during the Korean War and served until his honorable discharge on March 24, 1960.
Mr. Arguoyan was an executive at the former Lowell Shoe Company until his retirement in 1989.
Besides his wife Arlene, he is survived by two sons, John Arguoyan and his wife Sophia (Panagiotakos) Arguoyan and Gary Arguoyan, a daughter, Joanne Arguoyan all of Lowell. His two cherished grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Arguoyan of Lowell. A sister, Ann Kazanjian and her husband Jon of Lowell. Sisters-in-law, Anne Mercier and Dorothy Ouellette and brother-in-law Tom Petroules all of Lowell. Also by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Angie Kazakos.
ARGUOYAN -- In Lowell, June 4, 2010 at Lowell General Hospital. Beloved husband of Arlene (Petroules) Arguoyan. A United States Marine Corps Veteran. There will be No Calling Hours. His Funeral Service will be on Tues. at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vartanantz Armenian Church, 180 Old Westford Rd. Chelmsford. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
