LOWELL -- Edward Patrick "Ned" Sheehy, 51, of Lowell, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 28, 2013.
Born on July 4, 1961, he was the beloved son of Paul and Molly (Gleason) Sheehy.
Ned attended St. John's Preparatory School, Danvers from which he graduated in 1979 and was a graduate of Middlesex Community College.
He worked for more than twenty years at the John J. Janas Skating Rink in Lowell and for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management for many years.
A lifelong Lowellian, Ned lived life to the fullest, was a gifted athlete and enjoyed playing hockey for many years.
A devoted son, brother, uncle and a dear friend to many, he cherished the time that he spent with family and friends. Ned always saw the good in life, could fill a room with laughter and quickly made friends wherever he went.
In addition to his parents, Ned is also survived by his brother Timothy P. Sheehy and Kathy Masterson, and his sisters Maria Sheehy, Anne Sheehy and Elizabeth Sheehy. Ned was a cherished uncle to Paul J. Sheehy II, Daniel M. Sheehy, Fiona Sullivan, Eilis Sullivan, John Flood, Cate Shanahan and Molly Flood and a great- uncle to Connor Sheehy.
Ned is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ned was also the brother of the late Michael Sheehy and the late Kathleen Sheehy.
