CHELMSFORD -- Patricia "Pat" (Shea) Spence, 80, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, in Lowell. She was the loving wife of William Spence, who survives her and resides in Chelmsford.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the (late) William and (late) Agnes (Sullivan) Shea. Pat attended the Sacred Heart School, Butler School, and graduated from Lowell High School in 1951. Upon graduation, she attended the School of Nursing at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, MA. She worked for several years for Raytheon Corporation, in Lowell. In later years, she was a homemaker and the Co-Owner and Manager of Town and Country Convenience Store in West Chelmsford. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and the Worker's Shrine of Lowell.
Pat was known for her love of music and as a young child enjoyed her Saturday visits to WLLH to sing the popular songs of the day. During the 1970s, her voice could be heard over the Nashua airwaves singing jingles for the radio station, WOTW.
Her spontaneous humor and generosity of spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband, she leaves her daughters, Sandra Spence-Goulet and her husband, Paul Goulet of Chelmsford; Karen Spence of Boston; Gayle Spence-Tanev and her husband, Kaloyan Tanev, and granddaughter, Milena Lee Tanev of Belmont; and her brother, Edward Shea, of Lowell.
