Loving mother and grandmother; 87

LITTLETON -- Phyllis (Smith) Foley, 87, of Littleton, died on December 18, 2012, in the loving care of LifeChoice Hospice at The Westford House, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Boston on June 7, 1925 daughter of the late George and Faustina (Cain) Smith and was the wife of the late James F. Foley. She grew up in Belmont and graduated from the Academy of the Assumption in Wellesley. After graduation from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, she went on to work as a secretary in Washington D.C.

She married in 1951 to James Foley and they made their home in Littleton.

Mrs. Foley was a parishioner of St. Anne's Church in Littleton, as well as a member of the Ladies Sodality.

For over 50 years, Phyllis looked forward to spending her summers with her family and friends at Hermit Island, Small Point, Maine. She enjoyed traveling to Colorado to attend her grandchildren's graduations.

She was a den mother for Cub Scouts and in her later years, she turned her love of sewing into a business called "Kids Can Sew" where she taught the art of sewing to many children. She also enjoyed crafts, and oil painting.

Mrs. Foley is survived by her children, Diane Doherty and her husband, Kevin of Northboro, Deborah Fidler and her husband, Donald of Littleton, Linda Adams and her husband, Richard of Golden, Colorado, James Foley and his wife, Mary of Northboro, Stephen Foley and his wife, Jeanne of Norton; and her beloved sister-in-law, Sister Rena Foley of Sisters of St. Joseph in Brighton. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren. Phyllis will be laid to rest alongside her husband, James, and their infant son, Nicholas.

FOLEY -- In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifeChoice Hospice at The Westford House. Funeral from the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton on Saturday, Dec 22, 2012 at 9 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's Church, 75 King St. at 10 am. Visiting hours will be Friday from
