Raymond L. Lausier
resident of Tyngsborough, MA

Korean War Veteran; age 76

TYNGSBOROUGH -- Mr. Raymond Leo Lausier, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Fairhaven Nursing Home in Lowell, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Gabrielle J. (Lafortune) Lausier with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Ray was born in Lowell, MA on August 24, 1937, a son to the late Cecile (Boudreau) (Lausier) Martineau, Philip Lausier and step son to late Rosario (Mike) Martineau.

He received his education at St. Louis School in Lowell, he joined the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War and was stationed on the Flag Ship USS Macon 132. Upon returning to Lowell, he worked in masonry and loved woodworking. Later moving to Tyngsboro with his family, he set up a wood working shop where he made many things for their home and items to be used in the Tyngsboro Flower Shop which he co-owned with his wife for 25 years. Prior to retirement, he was employed by RF Logic of Hudson, NH.

Ray was an active member and past president at the C.C.A. (Franco American French Club) along with being a member of the American Legion in Tyngsboro and the Tyngsboro Sportsmen Club.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his loving children and their families, Phillip and his wife Deborah of Hudson, NH, Michael and his companion Joanne of Nashua, NH, Donald and his wife Nancy of Tyngsboro, MA, Debra and her husband Ronald Halverson of Litchfield, NH, Jacqueline and her husband John Sheridan of Nashua, NH; seven grandchildren, Steven Lausier, Samantha Lausier, Krista Burrows, Christopher Ambrosino (Pal), Drew Sheridan, Tyler Sheridan, Heather Olson and her companion Greg Reid along with great-granddaughter, Hailey Hudon. Also surviving Ray is his sister Doris Drew and her companion Carol Palombo of Nashua, NH; sisters-in- law, Alice Lausier of Billerica, MA, Jeannette McCoy and her husband Thomas (Mike) McCoy of Pelham, NH, and Carol Lafortune of Florida; an aunt, Alice Mercier of Lynn, MA who is 100 years old; nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous wonderful friends.

Ray was predeceased by his brother, Henry Lausier, nephew, Kenneth Lausier, niece, Lisa McCoy and brother-in-law, Robert Lafortune.

LAUSIER -- died in Lowell on Oct. 12, 2013. Mr. Raymond Leo Lausier, a Korean War Veteran, age 76, resident of Tyngsboro and husband of Gabrielle J. (Lafortune) Lausier. Relatives and friends may call at the ROLAND W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 308 Pawtucket Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. ATTENDANT PARKING. Funeral Thursday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10 o'clock at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 95 Lakeview Ave., Tyngsboro, MA.
