Robert J. Bourque
lifelong resident of Lowell; 62

LOWELL -- Robert J. Bourque, age 62, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. For 29 years, he was the beloved husband of Debbie (Noel) Bourque.

Bob was born in Lowell on November 24, 1950, a son of the late Paul and Rita (Lanier) Bourque. He was a lifelong resident of Lowell and received his education through Lowell Schools. He was a communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Shrine and served in the US Army Reserves.

Prior to his retirement in 2007, Bob was employed as a LPN with the Bedford VA Medical Center since 1992. He previously worked with Courier Citizen in Lowell for twenty years.

Bob was the kind of person that always thought of others before himself. He enjoyed camping in New Hampshire, gardening, spending time with friends and spending time with his beloved feline, Ramses and his canine friend Cheetos.

Bob is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cecile and Henry Perron of Dracut, Pauline and Robert Balakin and Deborah Cortes, all of Lowell; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Raymond Bourque of Nashua, NH and Paul and Bernie Bourque of Dracut; several dear friends, Dr. David Pickul, Dave and Maureen Ayotte, Roger Faias, Ted and Alice Donovan, Barry and Chris Miller and Maureen from the VNA; also many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Denise Rodriguez, Roger, Donald and Denis Bourque.

BOURQUE -- At his request, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday morning, Jan. 3rd at 9 o'clock at the Parish of St. Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 150 Appleton St., Lowell, MA, 01852. Arrangements are in the care of the M. R.
