Robert Kouloungis Obituary

Robert Michael Kouloungis; 85
Beloved husband, father, grandfather

LOWELL -- Robert "Bob" Kouloungis, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 13, 2015.

Bob was born and raised in Dover, New Hampshire, the youngest of nine brothers and sisters. His love of art and baseball began at an early age with pencil sketches and charcoals of his idols, Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio.

He attended Massachusetts College of Art to pursue his passion, and soon after began his long and successful career in advertising as an art director and graphic designer. As an independent studio, he worked for international companies such as McDonald's to local companies such as Old Mother Hubbard Baking Company, Merrimack Travel, Enterprise Bank, and Wachusett Potato Chip where his package design is still in use.

Bob adored his wife, Irene, and was an avid sports lover. As a passionate fan of the New York Yankees, he was playfully chided by his friends, Red Sox fans all, but his allegiance never wavered. He also loved to golf and throughout his life enjoyed practicing and honing his craft. He beamed with pride showing people both of his coveted "Hole in One" awards.

In addition to his wife, Irene, Bob is survived by his three children, his son, Niclis Kouloungis and his wife, Daphne of Chelmsford; his daughter, Constance Saccone and her husband, Michael of Lowell; his daughter, Sofia Wacksman and her husband, Steve of New York City.

He cherished his four grandchildren, Alexa, Ariana, Robert and Dashiell.

His energy and exuberance will be missed by all that knew him, as anyone that ever watched a ball game with Bob would agree.

I just found out about Bob's passing and wanted to express my sympathy to his family. Bob and I worked together for many, many years and we were great friends and co-workers during our years together. every time I picture him I think of the times he would stand in place in our office and practice his golf swing!
