ORLANDO, FL -- Roberta June (Hollingworth) Miller, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Westford, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at her home in Orlando, following a brief illness, aged 88 years. She was the beloved wife of Forrest E. Miller, with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage in August.
Born June 16, 1924, in Lowell, MA, a daughter of the late Robert and Harriet (Tate) Hollingworth. Roberta received her early education in the Lowell school system and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1942.
Roberta and Forrest were married on August 28, 1944. They settled in Westford to raise their family, where they lived for 38 years.
After raising her three children, Roberta worked for Drew's Farm Stand, the Westford School System lunch program, Chelmsford Dental Associates, and Merrimack Valley Business Machines in North Chelmsford with her son Ron.
After retiring in 1988, the couple moved to the Williamsburg section of Orlando, Florida. There, they enjoyed entertaining family and escorting their cherished grandchildren to Disney World and other attractions of the area. Mrs. Miller loved to read, and also enjoyed playing scrabble and card games, especially bridge and scat, with her extended family.
Roberta was a kind, generous person who will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, comforting ways, and most of all, her devotion to family.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two sons, Ronald F. Miller and his wife Susan of Hollis, NH, and Gary E. Miller and his wife Kimberly of Tyngsboro; a daughter, Marilyn J. Scott and her husband Bruce of Kissimmee, FL. She was the proud "Nana" of eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
