SALEM, NH -- Ruth C. (Quinn) Flanagan, 84, of Salem, NH, died peacefully Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA while surrounded by her loving family. Her beloved husband of 57 years, Arthur J. Flanagan, died January 23, 2013.

Ruth, daughter of the late William J. and Katherine (Cox) Quinn, was born in Lowell, MA on May 2, 1928. She attended St. Michael's Grammar School in Lowell and was a graduate of Keith Hall, of Lowell, MA, class of 1945. She was employed by Harvard Brewery in Lowell, MA and Mary Immaculate Restorative Center in Lawrence. Ruth was a member of Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Monica's Church.

Ruth's gentle, loving personality was shown in care-taking for her husband, parents, family and friends. She was a friend to everyone she met, including her extended family at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home and Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

Ruth will be deeply missed by her children, William J. Flanagan and his wife Susan of Belmont, MA, Maura K. Pennisi and her husband Richard of Windham, NH, Brian A. Flanagan and his wife Rhonda of Salem, NH, Kevin F. Flanagan of North Conway, NH, and David E. Flanagan of Salem, NH and her four grandchildren.

FLANAGAN -- Family and friends will honor and celebrate Ruth's life by gathering for her Funeral Mass at St. Monica's Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary - Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA. Visiting hours will be held in the KENNETH H. POLLARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
