Obituary Condolences

Sheila D. Laurin
"Loving Mother and Grandmother"

TYNGSBORO -- Sheila D. (Hooper) Laurin, age 67, of Tyngsboro, formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 4th, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, following a brief battle with cancer. For fifteen years, she was the beloved companion of Edward French.

Sheila was born in Lowell on April 25, 1945, the daughter of Dorothy E. (Trouville) (Hooper) Bergeron, of Bellingham, MA and the late Irving D. Hooper. She was the step-daughter of the late Wilfred Bergeron.

Following her marriage to her former husband, M. Richard Laurin in 1963, Sheila dedicated her time to raising their family and assisted with the daily operations of the family owned M. R. Laurin & Son Funeral Home of Lowell where they resided for nearly 30 years.

In the early 1980's she attended cosmetology school and received her license to operate a sculptured nail business in Lowell.

Sheila loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, shopping on QVC, summers in Wells, ME, and rides to the beaches and mountains in her convertible Mustang and Corvette. She will always be remembered for her witty sense of humor and her selflessness.

Besides her mother, Dorothy and her companion Ed, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Jeff Cox of Hudson, NH and Denise and George Speechley of Barrington, NH; three sons and daughters-in-law, M. Richard "Scott" and Darlene Laurin, Chris & Stephanie Laurin, all of Lowell and Matthew and Amy Laurin of Dracut; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Laurin and Jason Cox, George and Jessica Speechley, Nicole, Amanda and Cassandra Laurin and Olivia Laurin; her sisters, Denise Quinlan and her husband Kevin of Bellingham, and Debbie McCrary of Florida; her three brothers, Richard Hooper and his wife Christina of Norfolk, MA, Irving "Buddy" Hooper and his wife Kathy of Louisiana, and David Bergeron and his wife Terry of Florida; her favorite aunt whom she considered a sister and best friend, Sandra Hall and her husband Roger "Butch" Hall of Litchfield, NH; her former husband, M. Richard Laurin and his wife Sheila F. (Stone) Laurin, of Pelham; also many cousins, nieces and nephews including her godson Stephen Hall.
