Shirley R. Nolin
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother
DRACUT -- Shirley R. (Dickinson) Nolin, a Dracut resident and widow of Ralph V. Nolin died unexpectedly on Saturday August 17, 2013 at the Lowell General Hospital. She was 86.
Shirley was born in Dracut on October 12, 1926, a daughter of the late Clarence and Charlotte (Dunlap) Dickinson.
She attended Dracut schools and graduated from Dracut High School.
In earlier years Shirley worked at the Beaver Brook Mills, and at Raytheon. She retired as a secretary for the town of Dracut, working in the Junior High School.
Shirley enjoyed sewing in her spare time, but most of all she cherished time spent with her family. She will always be remembered for her great love and giving spirit. "Gram" would never say "no" to anyone in need.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in- law, Diane and Peter Caravoulias of Dracut; thirteen grandchildren, Kim Sylvester Joyal and her husband Rene, Ralph Sylvester and his wife Deirdre, Justin Caravoulias and his wife Denise, Matt Caravoulias and Madeleine Smith, Keith Caravoulias and his wife Roxanne, Amanda Caravoulias, Koren Caravoulias and Tadd Allen, Kent Caravoulias and his wife Stanka, Kevin Caravoulias and his wife Christine, Tracey Hernandez and her husband Osvaldo, Brad Caravoulias, Bryan Caravoulias, Tyler Caravoulias; thirteen great-grandchildren, Rylee Joyal and his wife Michelle, Lauryn Ortlieb, Andrew Sylvester, Alyssa Sylvester, Morgan St. Hillaire, Jack Caravoulias, Calista Caravoulias, Christian Caravoulias, River Allen, Bodhi Allen, Tripp Allen, Skylar Hernandez, Logan Caravoulias; one great-great-grandson, Raiden Joyal. She was also the mother of the late Cheryl Sylvester.

A wonderful woman beyond discription. A leader in Dracut who played major roles in electing some of Dracut's finest leaders. And to me an incredible influence whose wisdom and compassion, I carry with me everyday. Love you Shirley.

I have a lot of fond memories visiting Aunt Shirley in the summer time in the 1960's, she would keep me and my sister's busy outside playing. Aunt Shirley was always a beacon of light that always made me feel special. Rest in Peace. Your nephew, Al (Buddy) Dickinson
