Silvina C. (Da Silva) Picanso
LOWELL -- Mrs. Silvina C. (Da Silva) Picanso 78, of Lowell died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2013 at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of Francisco S. Picanso with whom she celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Jan. 12th.
Silvina was born in Graciosa, Portugal on July 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Augusta Da Silva. She was raised and educated in Portugal. Mrs. Picanso immigrated to the United States in 1969 settling in Lowell.
She was employed for many years as seamstress at Nathan Solomon's of Lowell and retired from Joan Fabric in May of 1996.
Mrs. Picanso enjoyed baking and crocheting but was most happy spending quality time with family and friends especially her niece Angelina and granddaughters.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Lowell.
Besides her loving husband, Francisco, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Luiza Picanso of Lowell; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Emily Picanso of Lowell; a brother and sister-in-law, Arlindo and Floustinha Da Silva of Graciosa, Portugal and her step brother and sister-in-law, Jose and Maria Picanso of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Maria Da Silva, Madalena Da Silva, Leonilde Da Silva and Antonio Da Silva.
