TYNGSBORO, MA -- William James "Billy" Roberts, 80, died Saturday, December 8th at Genesis Westford House.
Billy was born on July 7, 1932 in Tyngsboro, MA, beloved son of the late Paul Chester Roberts and Vangie Venetta (Hopkins) Roberts.
Affectionately known to all as Uncle Billy, he was a selfless and kind man whose passing will impact everyone's life he touched. In his younger years he resided in Tyngsboro, was educated in the Tyngsboro school system. Later in life he resided in Kittery, Maine for 10 years where he enjoyed reading and sailing on the ocean. Uncle Bill worked as a carpenter for many years. Uncle Bill was a great artist and loved to build furniture and boats, especially the 70 ft. boat he built many years ago. He was very talented in all that he did. He enjoyed spending time with his great-niece, Maryann and her son Steven who was the apple of his eye. Billy loved the ocean, Maine and visiting Hampton Beach and Newburyport with his nephew Jimmy and his niece Mary. He also enjoyed spending time with his great-niece, Kerry and his niece Mary's Husband Bill. More importantly, Uncle Bill was a constant in his families lives. He was always there for anyone who needed his assistance or support. Uncle Bill showed his unconditional love over and over again through his actions. He was a very positive person who brought humor to every subject.
He is survived by his niece Mary McAnistan and her husband William and his nephew James Roberts and his wife Patricia; his two great-nieces, Maryann Landry and her husband Steven and Kerry McAnistan; his great--great-nephew Steven W. Landry; his sister Marjorie Hodge; as well as his good friends Charles & Caroline Chronopoulos and Albert and Estelle Landry.
Billy is predeceased by brother Theodore C. Roberts and his beloved sister-in-law Mary Rita Roberts.
