SANDWICH, MA -- William W. Brown Jr., 52, of Sandwich, MA departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 26, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He left peacefully surrounded by his sons and in the embrace of his wife of twenty-five years.
Bill was born on April 3, 1960, in Chelmsford, MA where he spent his childhood before moving to Sandwich in 1976. He graduated from Sandwich High School in 1978.
While attending Stone Hill College Bill would meet his future wife Diane. After graduating college in 1982, he moved to Hartford, CT where he was an accountant with Ernst & Whinney. Additionally, he would volunteer his free time with the Rocky Hill fire department. After several years, Bill moved back to the Cape to be close to family and Diane. He would later work at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant for twenty-two years to provide for this family.
Bill will be remembered for being a loving father and family man who never hesitated to support his family, whether by coaching sports teams, helping with schoolwork, or being a guiding force.
His selfless dedication to his family, friends, and those around him will ensure that he will never be lost in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife Diane (Glaser) Brown; two sons: Andrew and Christopher Brown; mother: Carol Brown; siblings: Linda Brown and her partner Rae Beaubien, Laurel (Brown)Holland, Scott Brown and his wife Cori, and Lorna (Brown) Herf and husband Michael; father and mother-in-law: Robert and Norma Glaser; brother and sister-in-laws: Robert Glaser and his wife Diane, James Glaser, Thomas Glaser and his wife Susan, Kathy (Glaser) Goodfellow and her husband Frank, Randy Glaser and his wife Suzanne, Joyce (Glaser) Bogle and her husband Doug, Janet (Glaser) Gemme and her husband Jon, Julie (Glaser)Hibbard and her husband Brian; and countless loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
BROWN -- All are welcome to attend the visitation which will be held on Wednesday January, 30th 2013 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt 6A, in Sandwich, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Corpus Christi Church, 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd., in East Sandwich, on Thursday January 31st, 2013 starting at 11:00am.
