Anthony "Tony" R. Colombo
Of Lowell

LOWELL, MA -- Anthony "Tony" R. Colombo of Lowell, MA died early Monday morning, February 24, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness.

Born in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Colombo. He graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1962.

In his early years, Tony worked at the Newport Naval War College of Newport, RI. He retired as a general contractor.

He was a communicant of St. Margaret Church of Lowell, MA.

Tony was a member of the Newport Fishing Club. He was an avid golfer, Patriots fan and Red Sox fan. He loved on-shore fishing at Brenton Point State Park in Newport, RI.

He is survived by two daughters, Lianna and her husband Ernest Hall of Lowell, MA and Suzette Colombo of Nashua, NH; one brother, Joseph Colombo of Lowell, MA; two sisters, Mary Ann Gray of Lowell, MA and Catherine and her husband Donald Denomme of Lowell, MA; his companion, Joanne Waugh of Lowell, MA; three grandchildren, Crystal Johnson, Nicholas Colombo and Elizabeth Hall and many nieces and nephews among them Catherine (Gray) Marcangelo, Margaret (Gray) Palmer, Anna (Gray) May, Mary Beth (Gray) Sherrin, Cheryl Colombo, William Gray, and Michael and Stephen Colombo. Tony is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews as well as several close friends including Bill Youman and Diane Titus.
