Formerly of Lowell, Army Vet; 85

ROCKVILLE -- Mr. Gerald Donaghey, 85, passed away Wednesday, February 26th, at the Woodlake Nursing Home.

He was born February 25, 1929 in Lowell, Massachusetts, a son of the late Glendon and Vera (Ferris) Donaghey. Gerald grew up in Lowell and was educated through the Lowell Schools.

He served his country in the Army in 1946.

Upon his return, he worked as a taxi driver for A & L Taxi for over 30 years in Lowell. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps for many years as his hobby.

Family would like to extend special thanks to Gerald's caregivers, at St. Francis Hospital, Woodlake at Tolland, Masonic Care, and Hospice.

He is survived by his two sisters, Glenna Economou of Rockville, and Dorothy LeBlanc and her husband, Edward of Lowell; three cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald was pre-deceased by two sisters, Carol Gregoire and Verna Johnston, and a great nephew, Tyler Johnston.

DONAGHEY -- Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Tuesday, March 4th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A prayer service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Edson Cemetery. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
