LOWELL -- Bessie (Vangos) Depoian, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly March 2, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital, aged 91 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald S. Depoian, who died in 2009.
Born in Lowell, November 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Arthur and Constance (Papianou) Vangos. She received her early education in the Lowell school system and graduated from Lowell High School.
Bessie became affiliated with the former Brayburn Manufacturing Company of Lowell as a Bookkeeper, and spent most of her career as an Accountant with Raytheon, retiring in 1981.
During her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband Don, especially to Colorado. She kept an immaculate home, and loved to entertain and spend time with her family.
Mrs. Depoian was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews, and her sister-in-law, Georgia Vangos of Lowell. She was the sister of the late Zoe Vangos, Costas Vangos, Helen Tsaitsios and Christos Vangos.
DEPOIAN -- In Lowell, March 2, 2014. Bessie (Vangos) Depoian, of Lowell, aged 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Donald S. Depoian. Friends will be received at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell, on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 am, followed by her Funeral Service at the Church at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial donations in her name to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell, MA 01854. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
