LOWELL -- Mrs. Susan (Meserve) Ambrose, 54 of Lowell, MA, died peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2014, after a long battle with illness at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. She was surrounded by the love of her husband and daughter.

Sue was married to David Ambrose with whom she would have celebrated their third wedding anniversary on September 16th. They shared 12 years together filled with love, happiness and music. They also shared a huge interest in the Steampunk world, attending conventions and even had a Steampunk-themed wedding.

Sue had a great love for music and nature. She enjoyed attending concerts, and the simplicity of sitting on a park bench with her husband on a warm, sunny day. She often spoke of the great memories of her childhood and teenage years growing up in Billerica and Chelmsford, and her love of her family's camp in Maine.

The daughter of the late Charles Meserve and Virginia Thompson, she was a graduate of Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1978 and attended college at Fitchburg State University. She was employed with the UMass Lowell bookstore.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her two children, Haleigh Stanway, 27 of North Chelmsford, MA, and Luke Stanway, 25 of Assonet, MA.

Sue had a special bond with her daughter, Haleigh. She was a loving, selfless and devoted mother. They shared a love of music, writing, and photography.

Sue was strong, courageous, selfless, unique, kind, caring, loving, nurturing, simple, sweet, fun, outgoing, funny, passionate, beautiful, smart, uplifting, encouraging, a dreamer, happy, stubborn, adventurous, and creative. She always put others, especially her husband and her children, before herself. She will be deeply missed, but her immense love carries on.
