longtime resident of Lowell; 91

DUNSTABLE, MA -- Mary E. (Sexton) Maloney, 91, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Mothers Day, Sunday, May 11th, at her daughter and son-in-laws home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Maloney who died on

April 5, 1980.

Mary was born in Lowell, MA on November 11, 1922, a daughter of the late Catherine (McKim) and George Sexton. She was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School.

For many years she worked for Wang Laboratories, and then more recently for Elder Services and Lowell Council on Aging where she worked as an Event Coordinator, planning dinner dances and trips to Atlantic City.

Mary was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, whose spirit was filled with love, strength and compassion. She enjoyed going on shopping trips and traveling with her daughter and grandchildren, but most especially spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed every day by her family, whom she loved so very much.

Mary is survived by her 3 children, Charles Maloney and his companion Carol Cyr of Pelham, NH, Brian Maloney and his wife Pamela of Dracut and Mary Beth Chosse and her husband Wayne of Dunstable; 6 grandchildren whom she cherished, Caitlin, Garrett, Greer, Grace, Gretchen and Gavin; her step-grandchildren, Matt DeMoura and Tony DeMoura and his wife Monique, and Jonathan Henson and his wife Bonnie and Eric Henson; sisters, Helen Harrington and her husband Copley of Rehobeth, MA and Norma Fitzgerald of CT; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her sons, Kevin and Daniel Maloney, and her brothers, John, George, and Patrick Sexton and her sister, Mildred Donlan.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Lowell VNA and Circle Home Care and Hospice, especially, Susan, Tricia, Yessenia and Sue, for all of the kindness and compassion they showed to Mary and her family.

MALONEY -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 5-8 p.m. on WEDNESDAY May 14th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Her funeral will take place on THURSDAY from the funeral home at 7:45 a.m. with her Funeral Mass to follow at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford.
