LOWELL -- Adelard L. "Ed" Trudel, 90, of Lowell, died Saturday, May 24th, at Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill. He was the beloved husband of Germaine T. Vigeant-Trudel who survives him.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on January 29, 1924, he was the son of the late Louis A. and the late Margaret R. (Daley) Trudel, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1941.

Before retiring, Ed was employed as Special Events Coordinator with the City of Lowell for over 20 years. Previously, he had been the owner and operator of Trudel Real Estate in Lowell for many years and had also worked at Avco Systems Division in Wilmington.

Among his many activities, Ed enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending summers at Seabrook Beach in NH and York Beach in Maine. He was also a former Board Member at Camp Paul in Chelmsford. Ed was an active member of the Lowell community. He and Germaine regularly attended programs and events held in support of nonprofits. They were particularly faithful fans of the Lowell Spinners.

He was also the beloved husband of the late Catherine F. (Griffin) Trudel who died February 11, 1988.

In addition to his wife, Germaine, Ed is survived by two daughters, Donna E. Grzyb and her husband, Paul of Lowell and Kathryn F. Sheppard and her husband, Norman of Ipswich; five grandchildren, Michael Grzyb and his wife, Gretchen of Goffstown, NH, Katherine Grzyb of Lowell, Stacey Vitale and her husband, Joseph of Newburyport, Nicole DeGennaro and her husband, Benjamin of Tewksbury and Heidi Sheppard of Ipswich; four great-grandchildren, Tyrus Grzyb and Domenic, Ryan and Audrey Vitale; a sister, Joan Donnelly and her husband, Robert of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Raymond and five sisters, Helen, Regina, Dorothy, Lorraine and Delores.

TRUDEL -- In Haverhill, MA, May 24, 2014, at Merrimack Valley Hospice, Adelard L. "Ed" Trudel, 90, of Lowell, husband of Germaine T. Vigeant-Trudel and the late Catherine F. (Griffin) Trudel. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. from 3 to 7 P.M. Friday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated Saturday morning at ST.
