Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother
LOWELL -- Joanne M. (Greenhalge) Cormier, 51, passed away unexpectedly June 7, 2014 at her home in Maine, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey Cormier of Lowell, to whom she was married to for 31 years.
Joanne was born in Nashua, NH on August 17, 1962, a daughter of John "Jack" Greenhalge who survives her, and the late Phyllis "Sis" (Corey) Greenhalge who died in 2012. Joanne grew up in a large well known family in the Highlands neighborhood. She attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She was also a graduate of Northeastern University. For many years Joanne worked in accounting for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, until illness forced her retirement.
Joanne was all about family. Spending time with her granddaughter Bella was her most favorite things to do. She loved the beach in Maine, and spending time there with her husband and family.
In her free time, Joanne enjoyed making crafts, jewelry, blankets, and candles.
Surviving Joanne are her husband, Jeff Cormier of Lowell, her father, John "Jack" Greenhalge; her daughters, Angela Cormier of Lowell and Cortney Greenhalge of Salisbury; her granddaughter, Bella Marion; three brothers, Ricky Greenhalge and his wife Stacy of Lowell, Kevin Lehouller and his wife Michelle of Pepperell, and Jackie Greenhalge and his wife Becky of Lowell; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend and cousin Kathy (Libera) Maclauchlan of Louden, NH. Joanne was the sister of the late Cathy Kelly who died in 2005 and Jay Greenhalge who died
