Loving mother, grandmother, and aunt; 97
LOWELL -- Anna (Carbonneau) Arsenault, age 97, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at D'Youville Life and Wellness Community, following a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Henri Arsenault who passed away in 1963.
She was born in Woburn, MA on August 21, 1916, the daughter of the late Charles and Bernadette (Ayotte) Carbonneau. Anna was a lifelong resident of Lowell, and a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish. Earlier in her life, she worked as a house mother for the nursing students at St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing.
Anna always enjoyed summers at Hampton Beach, playing cards and games with family and friends. Her greatest pleasure was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Aline Sanz and husband, Ernesto of Chelmsford; Gloria Comtois of Tewksbury; Richard Arsenault of Rockville, CT; her son-in-law, Anthony Cronin of Woburn; she was predeceased by her daughter, Simone who passed away in 2012. She is also survived by two sisters, Rita Brunelle of Dracut, Therese Pomerleau of Lowell; and a brother, Emile Carbonneau and his wife Dorothy of Lowell; nine grandchildren, Michael Sanz and his wife, Kathleen of Hilton Head Island, SC; Paul Sanz of Hudson, NH; David Comtois and his wife, Connie and Kevin Comtois and his wife, Maxine of Methuen; Kristine Hoyt of Wilmington; Daniel Arsenault of Dover, NH; Emily Arsenault of Shelburne Falls; Luke Arsenault and his wife, Cyndi of Wallingford, CT; Jason Cronin and his wife, Kristen of Mansfield; 15 great-grandchildren, Amy, Ashley, Brian, Keelin and Aidan Sanz, Jillian Harmon, Zachary and Liam Comtois, Trenton and Jaime Hoyt, Emma Arsenault, Steven Arsenault, Eliza Grant, Caroline and Charlotte Cronin; one great-great-grandchild, Jackson Fox; sisters-in-law, Alice, Doris, Sylvia, Irene and Agnes Carbonneau; also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Jeannette Trottier, Angele Chausse, Bernadette Desrosiers, Claire Proulx, and her brothers, Viateur, Armand, Leo, Alfred, Simon, and Joseph Carbonneau.
ARSENAULT -- Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Sunday, June 15 from
3 until 7 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 9 o'clock at the Parish of St. Rita, Lowell. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
