Gerard A. Charbonneau
1934-2014

HUDSON, NH -- Gerard A. Charbonneau, 79, a twenty-five year resident of Hudson, NH, died Sunday June 22, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the adoring husband of Pauline M. (LeGendre) Charbonneau with whom he has been married for 34 years.

Born in Lowell on July 21, 1934, he was a son of the late Albert and Mildred (Gobin) Charbonneau. He was raised in Lowell and attended St. Louis School.

Jerry was an excellent provider for his family. He had a long and successful career as a shoe cutter. He began working at a young age for Robbie Shoe where he remained for 16 years. He then went on to Lowell Shoe Company for 28 years as a supervisor in their cutting room. Prior to retirement, he worked for New Balance Shoe Company as a supervisor.

Some of his fondest memories were made with his family and friends at Hampton State Park. Jerry loved the beach and everything that went with it, including going out and enjoying a nice fried clam dinner. His love of the sun brought him to the Caribbean where he lived and worked for four years. He enjoyed traveling and has been to great places including Alaska. He was a sportsman, having had a passion for football, baseball and boxing. Jerry was kind, generous and helpful to all those around him.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Frank Charbonneau and his wife, Ann of Francestown, NH; Tom Charbonneau and his wife, Pam of Londonderry, NH and Cynthia Daly of Burlington, MA; six grandchildren; Craig Sullivan of Burlington, MA, Lindsay Daly of Milford, NH, Meagan Daly of Burlington, MA, Sarah Daly of Medford, MA, Kyle Charbonneau and Christopher Charbonneau of Francestown, NH; one great-grandson, Phillip Sullivan of Cape Cod; four brothers; Roland Charbonneau and his wife, Annette of Lowell, Bob Charbonneau and his wife, Fran of Lowell, Paul Charbonneau of Lowell and Dick Charbonneau and his wife, Lu of Center Conway, NH, three sisters; Gloria Charbonneau, Pearl Charbonneau and Claire Nagle and her husband, Paul, all of Lowell; several nieces and nephews.

CHARBONNEAU -- Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell, MA from 4 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday June 25, 2014. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10 am in St. Kathryn's Parish, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson, NH. Interment will be private.
