Shirley T. Cyr
long-time resident of Lowell; 65

LOWELL -- Shirley T. (Clark) Cyr, 65, a long-time resident of Lowell and recent resident of Wrentham, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at home with her family by her side. She and husband Paul R. Cyr, celebrated nearly 49 years of marriage.

Born in Lowell on September 9, 1948, she was the oldest child of the late Theresa Clark and William Clark of Lowell who survives her.

In addition to her husband and father, she leaves two daughters, their husbands, and five grandsons: Kristine Goodwin, her husband Bruce, their sons Kyle, Jared and Noah, and Rebecca Fayed, her husband Ramy, and their sons Zachary and Jacob. She is also survived by her five siblings: Donna Spellissy, William Clark, Jr., Richard Clark, Judi Regan and Cathy Gettings.

Primarily Shirley was a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandsons, who call her "Nanny" were her "darlings and sweethearts" who she loved unconditionally. She was also a loving daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother, and friend to more than we could possibly list.

Shirley served as the director of social services for the City of Lowell for several years. She later became a Director of Religious Education and a Pastoral Associate. She worked and volunteered in several parishes in Massachusetts and at the Norfolk Prison.

Shirley's favorite quote was "we are blessed so that we may bless others." Her life was a testament to love. She believed and wanted others to know that even the smallest gestures can have a lasting impact on the lives of others.
