Beloved husband, father, and grandfather

DRACUT -- Robert Ellsworth Howard, 78, the beloved husband of Ann M. (Santos) Howard, passed away on Sunday evening, July 13, 2014, at the Willow Manor Nursing Home.

Robert was born in Lowell on October 2, 1935, a son of the late Jefferson and Beatrice (Hamilton) Howard. He attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. In 1955, Bob married Ann M. Santos and together they raised three children and celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed as a Milk Man for the H.P. Hood Company and later with Lowell Dairy and West Lynn Creamery.

Bob enjoyed his dog, Lady, whom he adored. He also liked to attend the Auto Races in New Hampshire. He was a fan of football and wrestling on television.

Most of all, Bob loved his trips to the park and then out for ice cream with his granddaughter.

Surviving Bob in addition to his wife, Ann are his three children, Michael Howard and his wife, Elaine of Missouri, James Howard and his wife, Lisa of Dracut, and Deborah Howard of Dracut; his three grandchildren, Travis Howard of Wilmington, Michael Costello and Melissa Costello, both of Dracut; his sister, Phyllis Norton of Lewiston, ME; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob was the brother of the late Paul Howard, Thomas Howard, Roger Howard, Beatrice Howard, and Martha Nichols.
