LOWELL -- Barbara LaBranche, age 75, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Norman LaBranche who died in 1981.
She was born in Boston on June 21, 1939, daughter of the late Pauline Goulet.
She was a very active communicant of Holy Family Parish. She was passionate about her volunteer work and serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, where she held several officer positions over the years.
She also enjoyed her years of work at the gift shop at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle & Bill Law of Yorktown, VA, Suzanne & Jim Ash of Hartford, CT, Jeannine LaBranche and her partner, Andrew Cott of Chelmsford; a son and daughter-in-law, David & Angele LaBranche of Salem, NH; a sister, Ree Jutras-Kuser of Martha's Vineyard; a brother, Marc Cayer of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Billy, Adam and Eric Law, Marisa, Troy, and Elise LaBranche; a great-grandchild, Talia Richard; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She was the mother of the late Linda Marie LaBranche who died in 1958.
LaBRANCHE -- According to her wishes, there will be no visitation, cremation to take place Monday. Relatives & Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday July 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish, 30 Grafton St., South Lowell. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements by the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, donations in her memory may be made to the Holy Family Parish.
